Blue Planet x Shipping Route Shambles: A Virtual Exhibit
Proud to be exhibiting “Shipping Route Shambles” at the Blue Planet Virtual Art Exhibition, currently accessible here.
Here’s some background: There was a matchmaking Tezos event a couple of years ago and fate threw Stephanie Fuller and I at each other. She should have ducked, but it is what it is.
We chose a topic that aligned with both our values. We decided to make a work highlighting the plight of whales and problems with waste in our oceans. In this piece, the whale calf and mother are separated by the shipping route and the toxic/other waste. The challenge is for the mother to make it to her child despite all of the life-threatening obstacles. Of course, 80’s era video games came to both our minds in a rather intuitive way. But for these whales, there is no reset button should they come to harm. There is only GAME OVER.
The ocean and whales were painted by Stephanie Fuller while the digital side was executed by The Cryptory/Digital Napalm.
